2009 New Trucks: The Hooks They Have to Get You Hooked

2008 Toyota Tundra

After years of pecking around the periphery of the full-size truck market, Toyota pulled out all the stops with the new Tundra. Styled and designed to appeal to traditional American truck drivers, the Toyota Tundra delivers the full-size goods with plenty of power, lots of bed and cabin options, and a variety of engines that include a V-6 and 381-horsepower V-8. Although the Tundra hasn't been as huge a success as Toyota initially projected, part of that is due to the timing of the vehicle's introduction. It's certainly not the fault of the truck itself. The 2009 Toyota Tundra has yet to make its appearance, but we've driven the 2008 Tundra, and it's easily competitive with its competition.
