2009 New Trucks: The Hooks They Have to Get You Hooked

The Hook: 2008 Toyota Tundra

The Toyota Tundra's hook, and one that certainly appeals to a certain kind of buyer, is sheer size. The thing is monstrous in its proportions, casting a shadow bigger than many of its competitors. Even in cases where the competitive truck is bigger in one dimension or another, the Toyota Tundra just looks bigger. However, the Tundra also has the brawn to back up its bluster, with huge towing capacity, downright sprightly acceleration thanks to the big V-8 (which is no longer most powerful in the class, thanks to the new Dodge Ram and GM trucks), and a cavernous rear seat in Crew Max versions. If you like 'em big, the Toyota Tundra is your best choice.
